The Kwara North Local Government Council Chairmen have firmly refuted a recent social media claim alleging that one of their members resigned in protest over a purported shady deal involving local government allocations. The report suggested that the chairman’s resignation was in response to pressure to sign an agreement that would have diverted a significant portion of the local government’s funds to Ramoni.
In a statement released by the chairmen, they described the circulating news as “entirely false and malicious,” intended to mislead the public and undermine the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Kwara State. They emphasized that the report lacked specific details about the individual and the local government involved, indicating its questionable origins and intention to create discord.
Highlighting their support for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the council chairmen praised his leadership and commitment to transparency, stating that he has consistently shown dedication to the people of Kwara State. They commended his achievements, including his recent emergence as the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), recognizing his exceptional contributions to governance in the state.
The chairmen urged the general public to disregard this baseless report from individuals with ulterior motives. They also called on social media users to verify the authenticity of news stories before sharing them to prevent the spread of misinformation.
