The Nigerian Senate has approved the establishment of three new federal institutions to enhance educational opportunities in specialized fields. During a plenary session presided over by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, the bills successfully passed their third reading.

The newly established institutions include:

1. Federal University of Sports in Afuze, Edo State.

2. Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Otu-Jeremi, Delta State.

3. Federal College of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Sciences in Isiala Mbano, Imo State.

This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s broader educational development agenda, which recently saw the approval of seven new tertiary institutions across the country, focusing on areas like medical sciences, agriculture, and technical education.
