November 11, 2024 – Ilorin, Kwara State: In a new push for enhanced resource management and public accountability, the Kwara State Government has announced that public sector workers who fail to complete their Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA) registration by November 2024 will be ineligible for salary and bonus payments. This move aims to strengthen the state’s payroll integrity and service delivery efforts.

According to Dr. Hauwa Nuru, the Commissioner for Finance, the KWSRRA registration requirement aligns with the administration’s drive to establish a more transparent and accountable resource management framework. “The directive is a critical step to building a comprehensive database that serves not only state employees but also every resident of Kwara,” Dr. Nuru emphasized. “With accurate data, we can allocate resources more effectively, streamline payroll, and enhance overall service delivery across Kwara.”

The KWSRRA, established to manage resident data for planning, resource distribution, and public safety, has been central to this effort. Since initiating the registration process several months ago, the government has urged state employees across all 16 local government areas to register with KWSRRA, underscoring its importance for payroll accuracy and efficient governance.

Dr. Nuru highlighted that the database will bolster the integrity of financial and administrative processes, enabling better-informed decisions and fair compensation. “Ensuring that all workers are registered will not only improve payroll systems but will also build trust in our governance,” she stated.

In a message from Babatunde Toyin Abdulrasheed, Press Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, employees who have not yet enrolled are advised to promptly visit any KWSRRA center to complete their registration. “This directive will help establish a more efficient and equitable system for both the workforce and residents of Kwara,” the statement noted, as the government pushes for a streamlined, data-driven approach to administration.
