In a remarkable act of empowerment and support for local enterprise, the Executive Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu, has taken a significant step to improve the livelihood of a young resident, Mr. Shuaib Wasiu Alani. Hon. Yakubu surprised Mr. Wasiu with an industrial sewing machine, bringing hope and renewed opportunity to his tailoring business.
The gesture, which took place earlier this week, left Mr. Wasiu overwhelmed with emotion, shedding tears of joy as he expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Yakubu and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Mr. Wasiu shared how his previous sewing machine had become faulty, severely impacting his ability to meet customer demands and earn a sustainable income. He emphasized that receiving a new industrial machine was a timely intervention, especially as the festive season approaches—a period characterized by high demand for tailoring services.
“This machine will not only help me get back to work but will also enable me to satisfy my customers and increase my revenue,” he said.
Hon. Yakubu, while presenting the machine, reiterated his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and economic development in Irepodun Local Government Area. He assured residents that this gesture is only the beginning, pledging to initiate more programs aimed at equipping young people with tools and resources to enhance their productivity.
“The progress of our community depends on the empowerment of our youth. When we invest in their skills and provide the necessary tools, we’re building a better future for all,” the chairman remarked.
This initiative aligns with the broader vision of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who has consistently championed grassroots empowerment and economic inclusivity across Kwara State.
