Ilorin, Dec. 2, 2024 – The Kwara State Ministry of Finance has clarified the reasons behind the delay in the disbursement of November salaries and bonuses to some state workers. While many have already received their payments, others are yet to be credited due to incomplete registration with the Kwara State Resident Registration Agency (KWSRRA).
In a press release signed by the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, the ministry reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prompt salary payments but stressed the need for compliance with KWSRRA registration guidelines.
“The state government has since started disbursing the salary for the month of November, and many workers have received theirs across MDAs. The bonus will follow shortly after as before,” Dr. Nuru stated.
She explained that the ongoing payment process is being carried out in batches as the government integrates updated data and biometric information into the payroll system. “This exercise aims to enhance data-driven planning, strengthen payroll integrity, improve efficiency and public accountability, and promote public safety,” she added.
Dr. Nuru urged workers who have not yet received their payments to visit the nearest KWSRRA office to address any registration issues. “This is in the interest of everyone,” she noted.
The ministry further emphasized that local government employees and SUBEB teachers are being paid under the same conditions following KWSRRA clearance.
