Primate Adelugba, a prominent religious leader, has urged the Yoruba people to recognize and embrace President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a transformative figure for their progress. Speaking in an exclusive interview with ABNews, the cleric described Tinubu as a divine gift to the Yoruba nation, emphasizing his role in uniting the region and fostering long-term development.

“Yorubas prayed for gold, and God gave them diamonds, but many fail to recognize its value,” Primate Adelugba said. “Tinubu is not just a political leader; he is an opportunity for the Yoruba people to achieve their collective aspirations without causing division or harm.”

The cleric expressed concern that some Yorubas, blinded by personal interests, are unable to appreciate Tinubu’s vision. He stressed that unity and patience are crucial for reaping the benefits of the president’s leadership. “For any dream to materialize, there must be collective effort and trust in the leader God has provided,” he added.

Primate Adelugba praised Tinubu’s efforts in fostering regional self-reliance, a strategy that encourages each part of the country to contribute to its development rather than relying on others. “This is the kind of leadership that ensures fairness and sustainable growth, and it’s a vision the Yoruba people must rally around,” he noted.

The cleric also highlighted the historical significance of Tinubu’s presidency for the Yoruba people, drawing parallels to leaders who transformed their regions in the past. He urged Yorubas to see beyond immediate challenges and focus on the bigger picture, which involves a more prosperous and united region under Tinubu’s guidance.

“God does not make mistakes. Tinubu’s leadership is a rare opportunity for the Yoruba people to consolidate their strengths and showcase their potential. But this can only happen if they remain united and supportive,” Adelugba concluded.

The Primate also called on religious and traditional leaders in Yoruba land to play active roles in fostering peace and collaboration among their people. “We must work together to ensure that this opportunity is not wasted. Division only weakens us, but unity will make us a force to reckon with,” he stated.

Adelugba’s message comes as debates surrounding Tinubu’s policies and leadership style continue to dominate public discourse. While some have criticized the administration’s policies as overwhelming, the cleric maintains that such reforms are necessary for the long-term success of not just the Yoruba nation, but Nigeria as a whole.
