Ifelodun Landlord Association’s Annual Gathering Inspires Hope, Community Spirit in Ijegun

Ijegun, Ikotun, Lagos – The Ifelodun Association, under the umbrella of the United Progressive Community Development Association (CDA), held its annual get-together prayer, drawing a diverse crowd of landlords, landladies, tenants, and visitors from neighboring streets. The event, which has become a cherished tradition, marked a spiritual and communal start to the new year, leaving many in awe of the unity and purpose it fostered.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the street, Mr. Oladiti Timirisyu, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for gracing the event. He emphasized the significance of gathering as a community to thank God for His protection over the past year and to seek His guidance and blessings for 2025.

The spiritual aspect of the gathering was led by both an Imam and Pastor Ajibi from the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in the street. Their messages centered on the importance of love and unity within the community. Pastor Ajibi, quoting 1 Corinthians 13, reminded attendees that “God resides in love and unity, not merely in churches or mosques.” He urged everyone to embody these virtues as their reasonable service to God.

The CDA Chairman, Mr. Toyinbo Oladapo, praised the street members for their unwavering support and timely payment of dues, which have elevated their street to one of the most exemplary in the community. He encouraged the continuation of such communal efforts to further enhance their collective well-being.

Prayers were fervently offered for the prosperity, health, and protection of all residents, including tenants, children, and well-wishers. The atmosphere was filled with hope and positivity for the year ahead.

The highlight of the event was the communal feast, where attendees shared a meal, danced, and rejoiced together, fostering a deeper sense of camaraderie.

During the gathering, Mr. Babatunde Joshua, a street member, voiced a plea for improved regular electricity supply and other essential amenities to enhance the quality of life for all residents. His request resonated with many, prompting discussions on further development initiatives.

The event was graced by notable members of the CDA, including the former Chairman, Mr. Giwa, the current CDA Secretary, Mr. Ola Rufus, the Assistant CDA Secretary, Mr. Babarinde, and Mr. Olainukan, among others. Their presence revealed the event’s importance and the collective commitment to community progress.

As the Ifelodun Association concluded its annual prayer gathering, the community left with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to embrace 2025 with love, unity, and a shared vision for a brighter future.
