As the holy month of Ramadan begins, the Chairman of Ekiti Local Government, Honourable Awelewa Olawale, has extended his warm greetings to Muslims across the council area and Kwara State, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the fasting period.
In a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen, Honourable Awelewa described Ramadan as a time for inner purification, self-discipline, and increased devotion to righteousness. He noted that beyond abstaining from food and drink, the holy month calls for heightened acts of charity, kindness, and gratitude.
The council chairman urged fasting Muslims to use the period to show compassion to the less privileged and reinforce their commitment to humanitarian service. He emphasized the need for unity and collective prayers for the progress of Kwara State, particularly for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s efforts in advancing development.
“I urge all Muslim faithful to take this time to pray for the peace and prosperity of our state and for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s continued success in his drive to elevate Kwara to greater heights,” Awelewa stated.
He reassured residents of Ekiti Local Government of his administration’s dedication to impactful programs that will enhance their well-being, pledging continued efforts to foster development in the area.
