In a bold move to enhance security and economic activities, the Executive Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu, has launched the “Light Up Irepodun” initiative, a transformative project that will install 100 solar-powered streetlights across strategic locations.

The initiative is expected to improve nighttime visibility, deter criminal activities, and create a more business-friendly environment. Speaking at the official launch, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu emphasized that the project aligns with his administration’s vision of grassroots development and sustainable infrastructure.

“This project is not just about lighting up our streets; it is about ensuring the safety of our people, supporting businesses, and fostering development. When our roads are well-lit, movement becomes easier, and economic activities can thrive late into the night,” he stated.

Hon. Abdulazeez assured residents of the project’s sustainability, promising routine maintenance and hinting at plans to extend the initiative to other parts of the local government.

As the “Light Up Irepodun” project progresses, residents are optimistic about a future where security and economic opportunities are strengthened through innovative governance.
