The Executive Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu, has extended his warm congratulations to the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), on being honored with the Daily Independent’s Governor of the Year (2024) Award in Hospitality, Enterprise, and Creative Economy.
Hon. Yakubu described the award as a well-deserved recognition of the Governor’s commitment to transforming Kwara State into a hub of economic growth and innovation. He commended AbdulRazaq’s visionary leadership, which has led to remarkable developments across key sectors, particularly in enterprise, hospitality, and the creative economy.
The Irepodun LG Chairman highlighted several groundbreaking projects spearheaded by the Governor, including the Kwara Innovation Hub, Garment Factory, Sugar Factory Film Studio, Patigi Motel, and the remodeling of Kwara Hotels. He noted that these initiatives have not only boosted economic diversification but have also created new opportunities for businesses, artisans, and young entrepreneurs in the state.
“Governor AbdulRazaq’s dedication to enterprise, hospitality, and creativity has set a new benchmark for governance in Kwara State. His unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, economic transformation, and infrastructural development continues to reshape the state, making it a model of sustainable growth in Nigeria. This award is a true testament to his exceptional leadership,” Hon. Yakubu stated.
The Chairman further praised the Governor’s progressive policies, which he said have strengthened Kwara’s economy and positioned it as a destination for investment and innovation. He reaffirmed his commitment, along with the leadership of Irepodun Local Government, to supporting the Governor’s vision for a more prosperous and dynamic Kwara State.
Hon. Yakubu also commended the Honorable Commissioners for Communications, Business, Innovation & Technology, as well as the Managing Director of Kwara Garment Factory, for representing the state at the prestigious award ceremony, which was held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
While celebrating this latest achievement, the Irepodun LG Chairman expressed confidence that Governor AbdulRazaq’s impactful leadership will continue to resonate across Nigeria and beyond, further cementing Kwara State’s reputation as a center of progress, creativity, and enterprise.
