-NNPC Assures PH Refinary Operational intact

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Engr. Jaji Abdulganiyu, MIFireE, has extended his deepest sympathies to the victims and families affected by yesterday’s tragic fire incident at Karu under bridge along Keffi Road, Abuja. This was contained in a press statement signed and released by Engr Abdulganiyu, through the Public Relations Unit of the Federal Fire Service.
According to the press statement , the fire, which broke out between 6:00 and 6:30 pm, claimed several lives and destroyed multiple vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate that the incident was caused by an open-body trailer powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

Fire fighters from the Federal Fire Service, with assistance from the FCT Fire Service, worked tirelessly to contain the blaze.
Additionally, victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Engr. Abdulganiyu also took the opportunity to urge all drivers to exercise caution on the roads to prevent similar occurrences.
In a similar development, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), has clarified that despite a minor incident at a section of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), yesterday, that the plant remains operational and continues to produce on-spec refined petroleum products.
In a press release by NNPC Ltd, signed and issued by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communication Officer, assures the public that there is no cause for concern, as all sections of the recently rehabilitated plant are in full operation.
