The Southern Sudan Anti-Peace Groups has debunked the news widely published against its leader, General Paul Malong, claiming to have wrote President Spim io to replace Vice-President Dr Riek Machar, with his favourite candidate, if the President wants peace in the country.
The refutation of the claim was announced yesterday in press release signed and issued by Brigadier General Garang Kuot Nyoui, Press Secretary, Office of the Chairman. He stated that “It has been brought to our attention that there is a letter circulating on WhatsApp and facebook claiming that H.E Gen Paul Malong requested splm io leadership under the first vice president Dr. Riek Machar.

“The letter claimed that H.E Gen Paul Malong wrote a letter to Splm io to work hard for the removal of Dr. Riek Machar from’s office as first vice president and propose another candidate from Splm io to replace him if the splm io want peace which is absolutely lie and we condemned it in strong term possible.
“I wish to state categorically that these claims are unfounded and fake news being engineered by the enemies of peace against the people of South Sudan.
“H.E General Malong had not written any such statement to splm Io leadership. In fact Gen. Paul Malong is working for peace, unity and reconciliation for all South Sudanese.
“It is unfortunate that the enemies of peace have chosen to propagate false information to general public to confuse the situation our country is in. Such actions are not only unprofessional but also unethical.
Our team is working hard to find out or trace Those behind the circulating allegation on all social media platforms and we will held them accountable.
“We urge the people of South Sudan and general public to support peace and unity among the people of South Sudan and refrain from sharing fake news”, he vehemently said.
