Abuja — The Federal Government has reaffirmed its dedication to fairness, equity, and national unity in the distribution of appointments across the country, amid growing social media allegations of imbalance in federal appointments.
In a statement released by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) on Thursday, the government dismissed insinuations of lopsided appointments, insisting that all selections are made in strict compliance with the federal character principle outlined in Section 14 of the 1999 Constitution (as altered).
The OSGF emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, remains firmly committed to the unity of Nigeria and is guided by the ideals of fairness and justice in his administration’s decisions. It further stressed that the current administration is working to ensure that all regions and demographic groups are adequately represented in the composition of federal institutions and agencies.
“The public is hereby urged to disregard unfounded speculations and continue to rely on official government sources for accurate information,” the statement read. “The Federal Government remains steadfast in its pursuit of a united, equitable, and prosperous nation, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The statement, signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, advised citizens to dismiss divisive narratives and baseless allegations aimed at stoking disunity.
For inquiries regarding federal appointments, the public is encouraged to contact the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, which remains the official custodian of such matters.
