Criminal Allegations: Police Arrest Portable Over Petition by Osupa

Ilorin, Kwara State – Popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, widely known as “Portable,” has landed in police custody following his arrest over a series of serious allegations raised in a petition by fellow entertainer, Okunola Saheed, also known as “Osupa.”

The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the arrest in a statement released Sunday night by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, who revealed that the arrest followed a valid warrant obtained from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin.

According to the police, the petition against Portable outlines multiple offenses, including criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, character assassination, and conduct capable of triggering a breach of public peace. The singer is also accused of using abusive and offensive language.

In response to the petition, police operatives from the Kwara State Command traced and arrested Portable in Abeokuta, Ogun State, at about 7:25 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2025. He was subsequently transported to Ilorin for further interrogation.

The statement confirmed that Portable’s statement was obtained in the presence of legal representatives from both parties, and preparations are underway to arraign him in court.

The Command urged the public to remain calm and avoid the circulation of unverified information, affirming its dedication to due process and justice.
