Abuja, Nigeria – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has responded to a wave of public complaints following the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, officially published last Friday.

In a statement issued by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board acknowledged the “unusual volume” of complaints, particularly from a few states, and announced the immediate commencement of its annual system review—an exercise traditionally conducted months after the examination period.

The comprehensive review will cover all stages of the UTME process, including registration, examination, and the release of results. Dr. Benjamin emphasized that JAMB remains committed to fairness and transparency, noting that all candidates are always given the opportunity to write their exams. He added that in cases where technical issues occur, the Board promptly reschedules tests for the affected candidates.

To address the current concerns, JAMB has engaged several experts, including representatives from the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, Chief External Examiners (comprising heads of tertiary institutions), the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa, as well as measurement specialists and Vice Chancellors from across the country.

“If any technical glitches are identified during this review, we will ensure appropriate remedial actions are taken swiftly, just as we do with examination-related issues,” the statement assured.

JAMB urged candidates and stakeholders to remain calm and assured the public of its unwavering commitment to upholding the integrity of the UTME process.
