Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has extended heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery to Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, following his recent injury.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 14, 2025, the governor described Awoniyi not just as a talented footballer but as “a proud son of Kwara State” whose continued contributions to his community are both generous and inspiring.

“I join millions of football lovers around the world in wishing Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest star, Taiwo Awoniyi, a successful recovery following his recent injury,” Governor AbdulRazaq said.
“Taiwo is more than just a footballer — he is a proud son of Kwara State who continues to give back generously to the community that raised him. His unwavering connection to home is inspiring, and we look forward to seeing him return to the pitch stronger than ever.”
The governor concluded the statement with a note of solidarity and brotherhood, saying, “Get well soon, dear brother and valued citizen. Kwara stands with you!”
Awoniyi, who hails from Ilorin, has made headlines not only for his performance on the field but also for his philanthropic gestures, including youth empowerment and sports development programs in Kwara State.
