Abuja | June 9, 2025 — The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has issued a public notice warning the general public, particularly foreign investors and international business entities, to beware of individuals and organizations falsely claiming to represent the company.

In a statement released on its official X handle, NNPC Ltd. disclaimed any connection with persons soliciting payments in exchange for meetings with members of its board, executive, or management staff. The company described such activities as “unauthorised and illegal.”

“Foreign investors and international business entities are especially urged to remain cautious. If approached, report the incident to the appropriate authorities immediately,” the notice stated.

NNPC Ltd. emphasized that all legitimate engagements with the company are conducted solely through its official channels or designated business units. It urged stakeholders to stay alert and refrain from engaging with unofficial agents or intermediaries.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, integrity, and the protection of stakeholders in all dealings.
