EPE-OPIN, EKITI LGA — June 16, 2025
The Executive Chairman of Ekiti Local Government Area, Hon. Awelewa Olawale Gabriel, has commenced the construction of the Anigba Bridge and the grading of the Epe-Opin to Owa-Atun Opin road as part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to infrastructural development and rural accessibility.
During a project inspection on Monday, Hon. Awelewa reiterated that the construction efforts were targeted at enhancing transportation, promoting local economic activities, and easing access for farmers, traders, and commuters within the area.

“These projects are deliberate efforts to connect communities, improve rural infrastructure, and tackle long-standing challenges, especially during the rainy season,” the Chairman stated.
He emphasized that the construction of Anigba Bridge will provide a lasting solution to seasonal flooding issues that previously hindered movement and livelihoods in the area. The grading of the Epe-Opin to Owa-Atun Opin road, he added, would help stimulate socio-economic development and reduce rural-urban migration.
While expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on site, Hon. Awelewa thanked the residents of Ekiti Local Government for their continuous support and cooperation. He urged for sustained peace and unity as his administration works to fulfill its promises in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Local residents have welcomed the projects with enthusiasm, describing them as timely, people-focused, and a clear demonstration of responsive leadership.
