As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commences its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise on Monday, August 18, 2025, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI), Professor Wale Sulaiman, CON, has issued a clarion call to Kwarans and Nigerians at large to embrace the process as a civic responsibility.
Sulaiman, who is also the President of RNZ Foundation, emphasized that the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) remains the strongest tool for shaping political leadership and influencing national transformation. He noted that apathy towards voter registration and election participation undermines Nigeria’s democratic development.
“The PVC is not just a card; it is the power every eligible citizen has to decide who leads and how the nation is governed. Any citizen who ignores this duty risks weakening our collective democratic progress,” he declared.
The neurosurgeon and globally recognized physician further urged the youth, market women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and religious leaders to drive community sensitization by mobilizing first-time voters and ensuring that no eligible person is left behind in the registration exercise.
He highlighted the opportunities available under the CVR, including new registration, correction of personal details, transfer of polling units, and replacement of lost or damaged PVCs, stressing that early action would save Nigerians from last-minute rushes.

According to him, “A stitch in time prevents more occupancy. The time to act is now—before deadlines close the window of opportunity.”
Sulaiman concluded by reminding citizens that active voter registration and the wise use of the PVC in elections remain the bedrock of sustainable governance and national progress.
