Popular social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has called on Nigeria’s top security chiefs to urgently deploy personnel into the bushes along the Auchi–Akura road after Afuze, where several passengers were abducted by kidnappers yesterday.

The activist, who was at the scene of the attack, said he personally helped rush one of the victims who was shot and left for dead by the roadside; to the hospital. He disclosed that he was returning to the hospital today to check on the victim’s condition, while also renewing his call for immediate security intervention.

“A whole bus was hijacked yesterday. They moved everybody out, and while one victim was shot and left by the roadside, the rest, including women and children, were dragged into the bush. This is still very fresh, those people are still there,” VeryDarkMan said.

He passionately appealed to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, to act swiftly.

“I beg you people, deploy your men to go into those bushes. Nigerians are inside those bushes right now. They have not gone far. Please send your boys to rescue them,” he pleaded.

VeryDarkMan further warned that kidnappings are becoming a nationwide epidemic, recalling recent abductions in Kaduna, Niger, Ondo, Kogi, and Edo States.

“The truth is that Nigeria right now is surrounded everywhere by kidnappers. It is no longer just the North. It is happening in the East, in the Niger Delta, and across the country. But this particular case is still very fresh, I am 100% convinced the victims are in that bush,” he added.

His call for urgent deployment reflects growing public frustration over the rising cases of abductions that have claimed lives and destabilized communities across Nigeria.

As at press time, security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the Auchi–Akura kidnapping.
