Hon. Akeem Olalekan Dauda, AKOD, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State, has appreciated the tireless labour of teachers in the Council with free healthcare services to teachers to mark this year’s World Teachers Day in Ikeja LGA.
The compassionate Chairman declared that “As the world marks the 2025 World Teachers’ Day, I, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, once again extend my heartfelt appreciation to our tireless, hardworking, and dedicated teachers, not just through words, but through meaningful action.
He disclosed that In partnership with the Department of Health in our Local Government, under the capable leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Tawak, they organised a Free Health and Medical Check-up for all teachers within Ikeja Local Government. “The exercise, was held at Agidingbi Primary School, is a practical way of celebrating our teachers and promoting their health and well-being.
Comrade Dauda, acknowledged that “Teachers remain the foundation of every great society. They serve selflessly, train diligently, and nurture the minds that will lead our nation tomorrow. This initiative is therefore not only to wish our teachers a happy Teachers’ Day but also to appreciate their daily sacrifices, discipline, and consistency in shaping the future of our children.
“Actions speak louder than words. This gesture is my little way of saying thank you to our hardworking teachers. I pray that you live long in good health to reap the fruits of your labour.”
