Reassures Residents of Sustained Development

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Saturday embarked on an inspection of major ongoing projects in Esan Central Local Government Area, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to fast-track infrastructure and human capital development across Edo Central Senatorial District.
The Governor visited two major flagship projects — the newly established Edo State College of Nursing and Health Sciences Technology at Udomi, and the ongoing construction of the Uromi–Onewa–Udomi–Ibhiolulu–Afuda–Idumoza–Eko–Owaya–Ewora Road, a critical interconnecting route expected to ease transportation and boost economic activities in surrounding communities.
Governor Okpebholo, who was accompanied by senior government officials, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work being delivered by the contractors, Mutual Commitment Co. Ltd and Setraco Nigeria Limited.
“I am impressed with what I have seen here today,” he remarked. “We remain committed to delivering quality projects that will directly improve the lives of our people. These projects reflect our administration’s focus on healthcare, education, and infrastructure.”
Project engineers at the various sites briefed the Governor on progress levels and remaining phases, with Okpebholo assuring residents that his government will continue to closely monitor the projects to ensure timely completion and long-term durability.
The visit comes months after the Governor signed into law the bill establishing the Edo State College of Nursing, Health Sciences and Technology in May 2025. At the time, he described the development as “a dream come true for the Udomi community,” which had long sought such an institution.
The renewed on-site assessment signals the administration’s intention to sustain momentum on key projects across the state.
