Tinubu Vows to Defeat Terrorism, Engage World Diplomatically

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration remains steadfast in addressing the nation’s security challenges through diplomacy and strategic partnerships, despite rising fears and public anxiety following recent statements by former U.S. President Donald Trump concerning genocide and possible military intervention in Nigeria.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, President Tinubu urged calm, emphasizing that the government is actively engaging with international partners to ensure peace and stability across the country.

“The most important thing is the fact that despite the political headwind and the fear of our people, we continue to engage with our partners,” he said. “The sources of the $2.3 billion bond subscription were oversubscribed, which is encouraging at this stage. The task ahead is immense, but we are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all of you that we will defeat terrorism in this country.”

The President reiterated his administration’s commitment to national unity and development under the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that Nigeria will continue to move forward with resilience and purpose.

“The task ahead is immense, but we are resolved to move forward with unity and purpose, guided by our Renewed Hope Agenda to build a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Nigeria,” Tinubu stated.

His comments come amid heightened concerns following Trump’s remarks, which have sparked widespread debate and apprehension across Nigeria and the international community.
