Firefighters from the Kwara State Fire Service on Friday, November 7, 2025, successfully prevented a potential catastrophe after a petrol tanker conveying 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) overturned at Kpasa Bridge, along the Ogbomosho Express Road in Eyenkorin.

The incident, which occurred around 8:03 a.m according to the Press release, involved a tanker with registration number ARG 680 SO, reportedly travelling from Lagos to Sokoto when it lost control due to brake failure and overturned, spilling its content.

Upon receiving the distress call, the fire service team swiftly mobilized to the scene, cordoned off the area, and drenched the surroundings to suppress heat and prevent ignition under the direct sunlight. Firefighters remained on standby as the fuel was safely transferred to another tanker, ensuring no fire outbreak occurred.
