Describes Victory as Testament to Visionary Leadership

State House, Abuja, November 9, 2025 (ABNews) President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as an affirmation of his visionary and impactful leadership.

In a statement from the State House on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming win at Saturday’s poll reflected the confidence and trust the people of Anambra have in his administration. He noted that Soludo has now joined the ranks of a few governors in the state’s political history to secure a second term in office.

The President commended the people of Anambra, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a peaceful and credible exercise.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has recorded under his guidance,” Tinubu said.

He praised Soludo for applying intellectual depth and academic principles to governance, fostering accountability, transparency, and prudent resource management.

Recalling his visit to Anambra in May 2025, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, Tinubu described the experience as “remarkable and indelible.”

“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra. Under him, the state is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” the President said.

President Tinubu urged Governor Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to extend a hand of fellowship to his opponents, emphasizing that governance thrives on unity and collaboration.

He also assured the governor of his continued support and expressed optimism for stronger cooperation between the Anambra State Government and the Federal Government.

According to the President, the victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) once again demonstrates the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy, where hard work and progressiveness can triumph regardless of party affiliation.

President Tinubu also commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers have described as a credible election. He encouraged the commission to sustain and improve upon its current standards to deepen Nigeria’s electoral system.
