A fresh wave of terror swept through Eruku community today, Tuesday, November 18, as armed attackers reportedly stormed a church programme at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), leading to the killing of several persons and the abduction of many others.
An eyewitness, who captured part of the incident on video while fleeing for his life, revealed that chaos erupted suddenly during the programme. According to him, worshippers and travellers passing through the area abandoned their vehicles and ran into the surrounding bush to escape the onslaught.
In a separate confirmation, a security personnel posted a note on a media platform, stating:
“Just confirmed, scores killed and many abducted in church programme at CAC in Eruku.”
Residents say the atmosphere in Eruku remains tense as many families are yet to locate their loved ones, and the exact number of casualties is still unclear as at the time of filing this report.
Security forces are reportedly making efforts to reach the scene, but the situation is still unfolding.
