The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC), Omu-Aran, has announced urgent steps to reinforce security following reports of a security breach in Eruku, a development that has heightened anxiety among parents.
In a statement issued by the PTA Chairman on Wednesday, the association acknowledged the growing concerns raised by parents on the school platform, describing the situation as “worrisome” and deserving of immediate action.
According to the chairman, the PTA executives convened an emergency online discussion earlier in the day to assess the situation and map out practical steps to ensure the safety of students. The association also engaged the School Principal and the Chairman of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC), both of whom assured that additional covert security measures would be implemented without delay.
The SBMC Chairman is also expected to liaise with the Federal Ministry of Education to explore approved and timely intervention options that do not conflict with existing policies.
The PTA Chairman reassured parents that the association is taking proactive measures to safeguard the girls, noting that not all strategies will be disclosed publicly for security reasons. He added that the PTA will continue to collaborate with relevant individuals and authorities capable of strengthening the school’s security system.
Parents were urged to remain calm as efforts are underway to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
The statement was signed by the PTA Chairman of FGGC Omu-Aran and dated November 19, 2025, at 9:23 a.m.
