President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has convened an extended high-level security meeting at the State House as the federal government intensifies efforts to stabilise communities recently plagued by violent attacks, including the Eruku axis in Kwara State where 38 abducted church members were freed this week.
In a statement released from the Presidency, Tinubu confirmed he is currently meeting with the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Air Staff, Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), among other top defence and intelligence chiefs.
The meeting, according to the President, is reviewing the latest national security reports and taking “decisive actions” to protect citizens in affected regions.

“I am receiving continuous briefings and have directed our security services to move with speed, precision, and absolute resolve,” the statement noted.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to securing every part of the country, stressing that those responsible for the waves of violence will face the full force of the law.
This renewed security push comes just days after the successful rescue of 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State—an incident that drew nationwide concern and prompted calls for stronger federal intervention.
“As President, I am fully committed to the security of all Nigerians. Nigeria will prevail,” Tinubu declared.
