Uyo, Akwa Ibom State — Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced an extensive support package for rising gospel singer and De9jaspirit Talent Hunt Season 4 second runner-up, Chris Vic, in a move he described as both a reward for resilience and a statement of compassion for persons with disabilities.
In a statement shared on his official social media handle, the governor revealed that he has directed the Commissioner for Lands to immediately allocate a plot of land to Chris Vic in Uyo, the state capital. He added that the Certificate of Occupancy for the land would be signed by him in the coming week, formalising the allocation.
Governor Eno further disclosed that the state government will construct a four-bedroom flat for the young singer, ensuring he has a stable and dignified residence. Beyond housing, the governor pledged a substantial investment of ₦100 million to set up a fully equipped music studio for Chris Vic, stressing that this funding is separate from the cost of the land and the house.
In a long-term commitment to the artist’s welfare, the governor also promised that Chris Vic would receive a monthly allowance of ₦1 million for as long as he remains in office.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the gesture, Governor Eno noted that Chris Vic’s life and music serve as a powerful reminder that hope, gratitude, and praise can thrive even in the face of adversity.
“Let this remind us that even in difficult moments, God is still good. Chris Vic shows us that praise is possible in every situation,” the governor said.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, stating that the welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities remain a priority for his government.
“I want him, and all persons with disabilities, to know that this government cares,” he added.
Chris Vic emerged as the second runner-up in the just-concluded De9jaspirit Talent Hunt Season 4, a competition that showcased musical talents from across the country. His performance and resilience throughout the competition captured public attention, drawing admiration for both his talent and determination.
The governor’s announcement has since attracted widespread reactions, with many commending the move as a landmark gesture of support for young talents and a strong signal of the state government’s commitment to social inclusion and creative development in Akwa Ibom.
