Introduces New Crowd-Control Policy

Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has implemented a new policy that marks a significant shift in the institution’s long-standing signing-out tradition. For years, final-year celebrations were characterized by long convoys of students driving through campus, a practice that frequently resulted in heavy traffic and gridlock on major routes within the university.

This year, the management has placed a ban on students driving personal cars into the campus during signing-out activities. According to the university authorities, the decision aims to reduce congestion, enhance security, and maintain order, especially as construction is ongoing for a modern car park to properly manage vehicular movement in the future.

Under the new policy, all participating students are required to park their vehicles outside the school premises. The Administrative Block has now become the central gathering spot for photographs, group celebrations, and signing-out moments.

Reactions among students have been divided. While some applauded the policy for curbing intimidation and the excessive display of affluence often associated with luxury car convoys, others argued that the decision has taken away the excitement and flair traditionally linked to signing-out festivities.

Despite the mixed opinions, the university management maintains that the new system is necessary to ensure a safer, more orderly environment during peak celebratory periods.
