He called on Nigerians to look beyond the festivities and reflect deeply on the significance of the season, stressing that the message of Christ as the Prince of Peace remains relevant in promoting harmony and mutual understanding across religious and ethnic lines.

President Tinubu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting religious freedom and ensuring peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.

“As a nation, we must continue to uphold the right of every citizen to live, worship, and pursue their aspirations in safety and dignity,” he said, adding that no Nigerian should suffer discrimination or violence on the basis of belief or ethnicity.

The President also commended Christians across the country for their contributions to national development, noting that many have continued to exemplify the teachings of Christ through acts of compassion, service to the vulnerable, and efforts aimed at fostering peace and tolerance in their communities.
Reflecting on his time in office since 2023, Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to safeguard the unity, security, and stability of the nation, assuring Nigerians that the government remains committed to upholding the Constitution and strengthening national cohesion.

He further disclosed that his administration has maintained continuous engagement with leaders of major religious groups, particularly in addressing concerns related to insecurity and religious intolerance, with a view to deepening collaboration and promoting peaceful coexistence.

As Nigerians travel across the country to celebrate with family and loved ones, the President urged citizens to exercise patience and caution on the roads, wishing all travellers a safe journey and a safe return.

Concluding his message, President Tinubu expressed optimism in Nigeria’s future, noting that with faith in God and collective resolve, the nation would continue on the path of progress and unity.

He wished Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year ahead.
