The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara State has firmly denied claims that it is being financed or sponsored by Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, describing the allegation as unfounded and deliberately misleading.

The party’s response followed a report credited to a group identifying itself as the Kwara North Development Commission, which alleged that the ruling administration was behind the funding of the ADC in the state. Reacting to the report, the ADC said the claim was not only false but an attempt to smear the image of a party known for its independence and internal discipline.

According to the ADC, its operations in Kwara State are sustained through lawful and transparent means, in line with democratic standards and the party’s constitution. The party stressed that neither it nor any of its officials has at any time received financial support from the Kwara State Government or from Governor AbdulRazaq.

The ADC further challenged those behind the allegation to present verifiable evidence to back up their claims, insisting that accusations without proof should be treated as propaganda aimed at misleading the public.

Reaffirming its position, the party said it remains committed to offering a credible and principled alternative to the people of Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole. It maintained that its members are guided by strong ethical values and would not engage in any act capable of compromising the party’s integrity or independence.

The ADC urged residents of the state to disregard what it described as a false narrative and continue to place confidence in the party’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and genuine service.

The statement was signed by Ibraheem Alfa Abdulrasheed Gbagba,
State Publicity Secretary,
African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kwara State.
